Synopsis: In the prestigious Shinhwa High School, where the wealthy and powerful send their children, a working-class girl named Geum Jan-di (played by Koo Hye-sun) finds herself entangled in the lives of four incredibly rich and spoiled boys. Collectively known as the “F4,” these boys—Gu Jun-pyo (Lee Min-ho), Yoon Ji-hoo (Kim Hyun-joong), So Yi-jung (Kim Bum), and Song Woo-bin (Kim Joon)—rule the school. When F4 bullies a boy to the brink of suicide, Jan-di, a vivacious and spirited girl, saves his life. Her heroic act is captured in a newspaper photo, leading to media backlash against the powerful Shinwha Group, headed by the strict and arrogant Chairwoman Kang Hee-soo (Lee Hye-young). To appease outraged consumers, Chairwoman Kang arranges for Jan-di to receive a scholarship to attend Shinhwa High School. Jan-di’s family runs a modest dry-cleaning business, and she lives in a small home with her parents and younger brother. As she navigates the elite world of Shinhwa High, Jan-di faces challenges, romance, and unexpected friendships. Amidst the opulence and drama, she discovers love, loyalty, and the complexities of social class. “Boys Over Flowers” aired for 25 episodes on KBS2 from January 5 to March 31, 2009. It is often regarded as a pioneer in Korean high school series and played a significant role in the global phenomenon known as the “Korean Wave.” Lee Min-ho’s portrayal of F4’s leader garnered him international popularity.
